Q1 of 7 *

What does BAPS do?

Select one.

How does it work? Rank the steps in order.

Good news: we already did.

  1. 1Start with a real questionSomething people at Westlake actually wonder about. Sometimes the community brings one to us.
  2. 2Ask the people it’s aboutWe write the survey and get it to everyone it affects, not just the loudest voices.
  3. 3Share what the numbers sayClear results for students, teachers, and The Featherduster, including what the data can’t tell you.

Q2 of 7

Has BAPS done this before?

A past project: test prep, straight from students.

Who asked?

Education departments in our community came to us.

What did they want to know?

How students prepare for tests, and which online practice resources they use.

Why did they come to us?

They wanted to hear directly from students.

Q3 of 7

What should BAPS ask next?

We want our surveys to answer questions people here actually have. Check all that apply.

Q4 of 7

How much do you agree: "This matters."

One answer per row.

For our school

For our school

Hearing from students shows educators what’s working and what students still need.

For our community

For our community

Surveys give a voice to the people an issue affects.

For our members

Real practice with statistics and programming, on real questions instead of textbook problems.

What matters most for getting people to take a survey?

What we've learned at Westlake

Incentives matter most for getting people to take part.

That’s what Mrs. Chong has found running BAPS. When more people take part, not just the ones with strong opinions, results have less bias and more fairly represent everyone.

Q6 of 7

Who's behind BAPS?

Short answer.

Faculty sponsor

Mrs. Chong

Tell us about her

Our sponsor, Mrs. Chong, is in her twentieth year of teaching and her fifteenth at Westlake.

Q7 of 7 *

Which describes you?

Check all that apply.

Support BAPS

Two ways local organizations can help. Either one means a lot to us.

Option A

Help fund incentives

Any amount helps. Funding only pays for small thank-you incentives for people who take our surveys.

Option B

Share survey expertise

Feedback on how we design and run our surveys, from people who do it professionally.

The fine print (it's good, we promise)

  • Everyone gets the same thank-you, no matter how they answer.
  • Support never changes the questions we ask or the results we share.

With permission, we recognize supporters on our club shirts, our surveys, and this website.
